Kirschner captures the style of composition of the mid twentieth century two or three degrees out from Schoenberg perfectly. The slow unfolding of notes crawling around diminished scales into to the nether of atonality never to find resolution piano style is delicately plated. He’s fantastic at playing the piano. Every note is perfectly placed. It’s like Elliott Carter. He makes his music available for free on Bandcamp. This musician, this type of music, is so incredibly under appreciated. Even people who should get it don’t seem to get it.
