I was tempted to classify this as post-punk. It’s not post-punk like Wire or Pere Ubu but like the psychedelic bad trip bands from the eighties like the Butthole Surfers or Tragic Mulatto. Or the Hell Cows or Stickdog or the Warlock Pinchers or Dr. Naugahyde. Or something that melted into something while we watched it disintegrate or melt like the walls on acid.
Honestly it’s really only the fourth track, Angry Song, that does all that. The rest is dreamier, spacier, but like everything it’s still reverberating from those huge Marshall Stacks and the beautiful tubes and rich tones from Fender Amps.
It’s good.
