Another of many reliably good free jazz releases on the Doek RAW label out of Amsterdam.
The band includes Yedo Gibson on reeds and trombone. Gibson originally hails from São Paulo and recorded with a fellow speaker of Portuguese, the brilliant Susana Santos Silva, with Fish Wool. Listen to the whole thing, of course, but check out around ten minutes and forty seconds into track two (of this release, obviously) to hear what Gibson can do.
Oscar Jan Hoogland https://oscarjanhoogland.com is credited with playing the electric clavichord. He’s an important figure in the Dutch free music scene and Europe as a whole. He’s famous for bringing things together, making things happen, teaching, and being a great musician.
Gerri Jaeger https://gerrijaeger.com plays drums. His website is worth checking out, especially the incredible list of people he has worked with. He’s originally from Austria.
These three make for a potent trio as demonstrated on this excellent live recording.
