I’ve been shying away from straight dark ambient recently having ingested quite a bit of it over the past few years. And this is pure traditionalist dark ambient. It’s not pioneering but if you’re familiar with my reviews I fine with that. I think it’s crucial that people work within formulas and develop genres within set parameters. I’m not being an apologist; I’m saying it’s equally as important as pioneering. This is the work of fleshing out the potential of the genre.
I’m definitely glad I clicked on this because it stands above the pack. It simply does what it sets out to do better than the vast majority of its musical peers. The texture, the tension, the pacing, it’s all on point.
