Serrie proves he’s still one of the kings of space with Elysian Lightships. At this point so many people have tried to do this but very few have the skill to create something that triggers the imagination like this. It hits the sweet spot concerning everything you want space music to do. There’s room for various approaches so I’m not saying other composers are doing incorrectly but this is right for specific reasons: no distracting annoying beats, the songs have movement and go places, it’s relaxing and engaging, and most importantly it’s a sonic representation of space. This music allows your mind to explore the expanse without the restrictions of photography or literature. Serrie is a master.
