The full release of this one isn’t on Bandcamp but it is available on Spotify. A friend whose opinion I regard very highly recommended this to me and to be honest if I had discovered it on my own without anyone vouching for it I may have overlooked some of the intense sonic structural subtext going here. Perhaps it’s a casualty of spreading yourself to thin trying to listen to everything.
This is subtle powerful music. It has a dark ambience without being so on the nose as most of that genre is. It’s sneakier and that makes it creepier. The composer says it’s about disassociation which is something I think we’re all dealing with especially in the community of people who make experimental music a part of our lives. It’s hard not to disconnect with all that’s going on and it’s hard to disconnect as well. Obviously, we’re trapped in this shit. This music expresses what it feels like. Or at least, how it feels sometimes after a certain kind of reflection.
