This is not the type of music you can listen to passively or appreciate in the background. A lot of people might miss out on what’s happening here because it needs to focused on like a complicated novel but also meditated on because it’s serious music. At first, it may appear emotionally ambiguous like a lot if abstract music. Ambiguity has an important place in music but this, to me at least, is music about peace and triumph. The final two tracks exemplify this. Sit Still, whose very name describes the first action of meditation, pulls you in with gorgeous vocals. Then the final track All That is Sometimes Not Considered, again the name relates to meditation, specifically setting your conscious mind free, and the sound of the music reflects this triumph. All through this album, I can feel the roots of the early pioneers of electroacoustic music but this an emotionally intelligent update.
