Such is Life is one of those rare experimental records that leans as much into a universe beat pop aesthetic as it does the avant garde. Largely based on human voice manipulation the sound is difficult to describe. This album would sit well on a playlist with 100 gecs, Grouper, Purity Ring, SOPHIE (love you always 😢) , Jarboe, and Sue Anne Harkey
but it doesn’t really sound like any of those. It’s a really beautiful, abstract, and captivating 22 minutes and insists on going into full rotation. Such is Life is a pure diamond.
