Goddamnit I just wrote a nice chunk about this and didn’t save it. Never had to before switching to whatever the fuck jetpack is. I wrote some nice reflective stuff about how Jarboe’s voice was built into the fabric of my being from being so prominent in my post-coming of age coming of age college years. Thinking how big her voice is to me it’s surprising that she can sneak out a new release with so little fanfare. I hope she’s set financially because she deserves to be. This album echoes her former releases solo or otherwise and on that ethereal ground alone it’s on the highest musical tier world treasure level. She’s got it stripped down to the essence here. Very basic instrumentation and her beautiful beautiful voice. Same as it’s always been she can hang an entire passage on one note. There’s no one else on earth that can do what she does. It’s almost like you can taste it. I could praise this until I seemed absolutely ridiculous and absurd and I still will not have praised it enough. Angelic. Seemingly supernatural.
