According to his BandCamp notes Bragg decided to pull out his old man’s guitar and created this excellent release in a couple days. The electronics remind me of Edgar Froese and the guitar playing Loren Connors.

From what I’m seeing this music hasn’t reached a wide audience as of yet, and I could be wrong but I think I’m among the first to shout out heavily in favor of you music writer readers taking some time to check this out because it’s one the best and most original releases so far in 23.

Bragg is based in Atlanta, where I grew up incidentally, and I’m still not so far away down here in Lower Alabama, Florida (God, Help Me!!!) – would love to see him live.

His BandCamp notes indicate that he realized he was at the second anniversary of his father’s passing while creating these sounds and I can’t help but think of the story of when George Clinton told Eddie Hazel to play ‘like your momma had just died’ – and in fact, the final track Homage does evoke similar feelings: music rustling through and filling the hollow emptiness of those left behind and finding inspiration to keep soldiering on.
