I wish I could show off and announce all the samples since this is tagged as plunderphonics but the vibe is very Maggot Head Hot Buttered Soul and it’s a great reinterpretation of this sort of heavy psychedelic black sound. I had almost given up on Bandcamp releases to check out this morning. There were other good things but I’m just too damn old to start my day with extreme metal noise chainsaw music. So I’m glad I kept the search alive and found this big boy.

So far this is the best music I’ve come across in 2023. Already shortlisted for my AOTY list assuming the world or perhaps my world hasn’t apocalypted by then.

This isn’t a comical or satirizing vapor release but rather a very serious and very meaningful recycling into something new and powerful. Layered and groovy and syrupy and stoned.
