It’s difficult not to poke fun at this music. There’s moments where it sounds like ok this has potential and then suddenly it turns into something so dorky it almost seems as if it’s intentionally self-destructive. Metal can successfully pull off making fun itself in its caricature of its own madness but this isn’t that clever. Let’s start with the bad. Neptune Beaches is a serious candidate for the worst song ever recorded. The attempt at melodic vocals are brutally cringe and then the musical attempts at a carnival / spy drama soundtract mash up are awful. I’m embarrassed for them listening to it. Then on the other hand Where the Ocean Meets the Sky actually has a respectable introduction and instrumentally it’s a decent tune. Too bad about the vocals. If you can’t sing please don’t. Really bad but there are moments. If it were just the easy guitar and the sax… maybe. Then again maybe not. The song writing is awful and they can’t rock.
