Davishi’s debut includes five beautifully haunting lyrical compositions. Her style is restrained and confident, feeling no need to lean too heavily into one tradition or another. The music feels to be uniquely hers and very honest. I believe this music expresses exactly what she wanted it to express. It’s also music that grows in strength as the listener develops familiarity. As a listener, I know that learning the path pays big dividends with contemporary classical music. Butterflies will certainly be on regular rotation for me. According to her website it took her 11 years to get this out. But now she’s up and coming and slowing getting closer to the recognition she deserves. You might as well jump on now!
