This harkens back the early days of Russian and other Eastern Europe free jazz (not that it went anywhere). I don’t know if this is really a problem or not but I worry that Russian artists are suffering because of backlash against the war in Ukraine. Insanely, the local symphony here canceled its yearly “Russian Spectacular” as if composers who died a century ago have something to do with it. Truly beyond fucking stupid. I love that the live tracks are in Moscow. Keep on keeping on. And this green vinyl is bad ass as fuck:

Mysically this is somewhere between The Ganelin Trio and Peter Brötzmann. One of the most important and best powerhouse masculine jazz releases of the year. Ferocious.
