Going by discogs and bandcamp release dates best I can figure, Contron, who just popped into my bandcamp feed with a new single was most active in 2013 and then again in 2019. He’s a lofi folk musician somewhat in the vein of Smog.

loosies clocks in at under 15 minutes with 8 songs. The songs are very economical and beautifully melodic and well-crafted. This fifteen minutes alone puts Contron far in the lead as greatest alternative/indie musician from Pensacola. This Bike is a Pipe Bomb is the most successful but they’re not even close to the same hemisphere of Contron who deserves international recognition. Pensacola also had a world class but under appreciated grind core band called Bad Orgasm. Besides that, there’s not much competition or if there is it hasn’t crossed my way.

My guess is that the title loosies indicates that these were some songs he had floating around that he complied on this recording. All the brevity might incline one to call it an EP the fact that it’s so compact with magic it feels like an LP. In the tradition of many of the greatest punks he keeps it short and sweet.
