Lattimore’s harp waits nine minutes and forty-five seconds to chime in. First a proof is established. There’s a quality to ambient / ambient-drone on the highest tier. Basinski and Eno. It’s like the musical equivalent of erosion which may seem too obvious in Basinski’s case. But it’s like the Grand Canyon. Beautiful and seemingly timeless yet definitively a process of time and even in its beauty it’s still just entropy of finality. That level of nature-tier brilliance is established before Lattimore enters. Then she lets us know why. It’s because she wields the hammer of the Gods. We are fortunate to exist.
