Andy Cartwright, whose best work is the bowed-guitar centered alias Seabuckthorn, has thrown his hat in the very crowded arena of ambient music. I’ve exhausted my free listens on bandcamp so it definitely kept pulling me back. He has a special way of using both found sounds and instruments without using repetitive patters or Cageian aggressive randomness. It’s certainly experimental but stays in the subtle landscape of ambientworld. He’s a clever and creative dude who can hook you in in a comfortable surprising ways. I always take note when his name pops up in my bandcamp feed.
