One track on this, Bongo, has a release date of 2014, so based on that and the way this thing sounds I’m figuring they’ve been curating these six songs for the last eight years. Usually, with bands like this, that have a small web presence, that are obscure, the most obvious shortcoming is the vocals. This band, by contrast, has an excellent vocalist. The closest comparison I can think of is Ian McCulloch and the entire sound of the band reminds me a bit of E&tBM. Honestly, I felt like these songs might be covers because they’re so well written but asking Jeeves has left me believing these are their own tunes. It’s good.
