It’s been a bit too long since I’ve heard a truly pioneering ambient release. And as much as I love aggressive music there’s something very special about music that successfully adds a large dose of the surreal in a peaceful way. It’s easy to be weird but it’s very difficult to hypnotize with peculiarities. That’s why I’m giving this such a strong recommendation. They’ve created a new sonic stream for us to relax and float down.

Spoken word is included in brief interludes. I know. I know. You’re probably thinking oh good grief don’t do that. I usually don’t like it either. But this doesn’t interrupt or distract. The voices just flow with the rest of it. Some of it is in English.

Another oddity is that the music changes abruptly but the flow isn’t disrupted. You never leave this surreal bubble.

It makes me think of Marcel Proust in the sense that it feels like hauntological memory bubbles and Louis-Ferdinand Céline not in style but in content. As the name clearly implies, it’s about impermanence and death.
