The Poor Little Music label don’t play. It’s something to recognize that they command respect. And they got more of mine with this release. Ruryk’s work here (and damned if I don’t have a ton of listening to do looking at his discography https://www.discogs.com/artist/200404-Brian-Ruryk?page=2 ) comes across somewhere in a constellation with Keith Rowe and Eugene Chadbourne. Especially Ruryk’s cover of Sun King, which reminds me of the stuff on Eugene Chadbourne – LSDC&W – The History Of The Chadbournes In America and incidentally I found this cover of Chadbourne doing Wild Horses from that record that I’m so grateful to my former self for buying back in the eighties https://youtu.be/FiVJRoJESq8
