COMUNIONE aka Alessandro is a punk rock one man show who lives in a mountainous region of Italy known to English speakers as The Marches. I don’t want to project this on his music just because he plays everything himself but it strikes me as lonely and hollow. Not hollow like it’s missing something musically but an artistic hollow like it represents something that’s missing. I’d love to visit The Marches and learn for myself but as a Floridian there’s so much missing. I suppose primarily I’m talking about a community that transcends the worship of consumerism. At this point, is punk the soundtrack to struggle still alive or the cries of the defeated? I don’t know this man, but I feel a sense of the latter. I respect it just as much either way or if it’s a combination of the two.
