French vaporwave label Underwater Computing _ released this two or three weeks ago. Spotify identifies it as a 2020 release. Nods and tips of the hats to Underwater Computing _ for getting it into my bandcamp feed because I would have hated to die without spending some time with this one.
There’s several paths to making a top tier ambient records. Occasionally, people simply stumble on genius. However, that’s not the case here. The acoustic instruments, piano and bells and vibes of some variation I’m uncertain of, are played with impressive grace and the compositions bring to mind Satie and especially Debussy. Then it’s layered with ambient electronic waves. Very lush and holds its own with the greatest recordings of the genre. A must listen.
