This 2020 release is such an incredible lost gem. I was going through KILLBUNK’s material in response to his excellent new single Know Better https://youtu.be/Z1QnYnCf3Ak and I bumped into this treasure and fell in love. I know I’m supposed to be writing about the latest release and all that but Cycles needs love.
It’s an EP. Each song is strategically brief – taking a page from The Ramones playbook keeping you wanting more. Every song has a simple indie jangle pop sounding guitar hook and without fail they all hit the spot. The production style puts this slight delay echo reverb on the vocals and it is positively lush. The flow is beautiful. It’s totally dreamy and draws you in. I’ve never heard anything quite like it.
They did a great job putting this video together, too.
