This European trio of sax, drums, and guitar come together to make a fine free jazz record. Even the percussion avoids pre-Ornette traditionalisms. The band is very democratic and every member seems to have an equal voice.
This isn’t my first time reviewing a Colin Webster record. This band or general collective deserve a little more space in free jazz circles. It’s gimmick-free austere free jazz that lives on the pure skill and creative integrity of the musicians. It’s a pleasure to listen to. Good chemistry and communication along with solid musicianship.
