In my opinion, this isn’t exactly ambient or drone but rather experimental music that should appeal to fans of those genres. Petteril bases the music around abstract and ethereal yet in some sense melodic musical lines. Sorry for continuing to define this music by what it’s not, but it’s too busy to be considered minimal. By ‘busy’ I mean in an exploratory sense. In fact, the feeling it evokes isn’t too distant than making your way through a dark wet cave somewhere between where you know you’ve fucked up and got lost but before full panic mode hits.
