Tangerine, But With No Pith (Part I) is about 70 percent sound collage and about 30 percent instrumental improv. Unlike a lot of collage sound art of the past this doesn’t startle with jarring discontinuities. Instead, this is pleasantly logical. It’s well composed and coherent almost like literature or even a first person video game I wouldn’t be able to navigate since I’m illiterate in that arena.
