Le Traviate is an ambient record that leans more towards the melodic and logical song structures and progression over simplistic minimalism or abstract experimentalism. There’s faint echos of glitch and in some ways it reminds me of Pink Floyd’s The Endless River – an underrated record relative to the rest of their discography -. Höfer describes his music as field recording and that’s one of those tags, like slushwave, that I look for. And although I didn’t notice a lot of the type of sounds I generally associate with field recording ambient I’m sure that’s what he processed them from. And the tag holds up because I really enjoyed this record. It’s very sound.
