Based largely on beautiful and rich and powerful female vocals this is both politically engaged and spiritually enlightened music. It borrows from Eastern European vocal traditions and indigenous North America instrumentation. It might not be influenced by female vocal Korean trad but there’s definitely an overlap. Extraordinarily culturally rich music trenched in tradition and simultaneously pushing forward.
