Instrumental metal that falls somewhere between Gorguts and Judas Priest and horns that land stylistically in the realm of Jaime Branch this is intense music but not necessarily an exercise in extremes.
This is really good. 4/5 good but I’m slightly frustrated that it’s not 5/5 good with all the ingredients being there. The rhythm section is fine. Sometimes Godfleshy but I actually think it could be a little more Priestly and the horns more aggressive. Scarier and more psychedelic. More wild. Then again, if I were artistic director it might sound stupid and gimmicky. I might just be in a bad mood because the Braves lost last night.
Love the album cover. Especially how the spirals spin when you scroll the image.
