This entire thing has a relaxed chillaxed vibe. The music floats around comfortably from different themes and genres but it’s so coherent in terms of flow or … current is really the word I want to use … it’s never disruptive or abrupt. Everything transitions so easily. Some of it has a far eastern flare – SHIRO means white in Japanese btw. But it slides into the territory of Ennio Morricone and then Charlie Haden all with perfect ambiance. This is an absolute treasure and I’ve never heard anything quite like it. Definitely will be on my AOTY list.
