Music historians like to beat around the bush about this but he was one of those people who can hear colors and see sounds and . I don’t know how deeply associated that phenomenon is with psychedelics these days but when I was young that was one the hallmarks of tripping balls: seeing sounds as colors. Well, Scriabin finally said fuck it and composed his music as a visual medium that only he could see.
