On a casual listen you might not notice what separates this from the very flooded ambient scene. It’s two things really: 1) The guitar playing is interesting and quite good 2) There’s really clever clips of beautiful melody that most musicians can’t write
It’s not melodic in a way that would upset the droney ambient flow but you hear these little things that could be built upon if they wanted to make it a good prog record. It’s sort of like Pink Floyd and Genesis are lost in the musical ether faintly whispering in the distance.
