Two fifteen minute tracks both based around an African tribal choral sample. I used to listen to a lot more African trad but most of the best stuff in my physical collection (almost exclusively CDs) aren’t available for online streaming and I never dig through my physical music collection anymore. So my favorite stuff, mostly recorded by French dudes back in the 1950’s through the seventies, is just collecting dust. These two samples are really prime hypnotics. Whoever this is throws in some nature sounds. Water and night insecty sounds. It’s really a sweet brain massage. It’s basically the ambient effect but through a more novel means. One of the tags is naturewave and I like that. Mentions the Pacific and maybe I’m wrong but I do not think this is related to the Pacific Islands. I think it’s straight out of Africa. The name traces to something South African Zulu related and that tracks.
