Solo percussion along with a cappella music are the purist expressions of art through sound. A favoritism toward the voice may have roots in Western Culture favoritism. Jazz drummers may or may not get their due but too few of us really take the time to appreciate the ancient and spiritual endeavor a work of art like this is. The rhythm is the time and the time is the process. Rotations, orbits, sunrises and sunsets… thought. Let’s not underestimate what is being addressed here. Successfully addressed.
