When I first started following this neo-jangle movement on bandcamp I thought hey this is a great genre that everyone enjoys it’s going to be gold nug after gold nug but instead I’ve found a bunch of fucking fool’s gold by suckers who can’t write songs. ATTENTION BANDS!!!: You gotta write good songs. Then you can syrup away through the quicksand and fuzzy and loose and easy and sloppy. All that works. All that can create a new aesthetic fucking everything works when the song is good. A sexy person makes every outfit look great.
So what do we got? A solid foundation. GOOD SONG WRITING and nice aesthetic to dress it up.
