Ambient music based around at least one plucked stringed instrument probably a guitar but perhaps something more exotic. Reminds me of a lot of the glitch stuff coming out five to ten years ago but not exactly. Less gimmicky more purely ambient.
Does anybody remember The Last 3 Days of Time by Fjordne https://dynamophone.bandcamp.com/album/the-last-3-days-of-time ? Certainly, not enough people heard it in the first place. It was released in 2010 and remains one of my favorite releases of the twenty-first century. Sui is very much in the same musical tradition. And unless I’m jumping to the wrong conclusion based on the artists’ names both are products of Japan.
Vinyl pops. Lush and beautiful and halting melodic instrumentation. Background loops of static and hums. All supremely tender like a nervous first kiss that promises the galaxy.
