Shit. I try to limit my reviews to recent 2021 releases but I but this one sneaked in. I still say snuck tbh.

Well, anyway, if you’re going to make experimental music make it interesting. Murphy does that. This is an engaging and fascinating listen. He uses lots of sounds and they’re captivating. It reaches into noise and industrial (in the old school sense) but it doesn’t hang around any genre to be defined by it. It’s pure experimental in true form. In the best form. The type of stuff I used to listen to on WREK Georgia Tech radio’s experimental music show, Destroy All Music growing up in Atlanta – very very stoned and alone in my room.

Fuck me, this is intense. In a perfect world this would be huge. The sounds have these wild crescent shapes. I know that won’t mean anything to people but it sounds like aggressive shapes to me. This is probably the best pure experimental music I’ve heard this year. I wish it were a 2021 release so it could make my AOTY list hardly anyone will give a fuck about.
