Maybe you could describe this as Metal Machine Music on Xanax. A lot of it is like that rumbling along in a slow subtle sonic texture. However, tracks I and II can’t really be categorized that way. It’s more like avant garde American primitivism drone. But unlike most American primitivism it’s painstakingly non-showy. The artist is clearly about the craft and not the ego. You gotta respect laying it down subtle like this. Sometimes drone or ambient music is good if you’re paying close attention or not and I respect that as an artistic achievement but this is music you’ll need to pay attention to and I respect that as well. We shouldn’t need to have everything spoon fed to us.
