Genre: Free Jazz

Rating: 5/5

Liudas Mockūnas, who makes up half of this duo and probably about 80% of the sound vibrations, plays a variety of reed instruments to some very intense and intriguing affect. Sometimes it sounds like a boar or some sort of animal you wouldn’t want to meet up with outside of a zoo, sometimes standard free jazz, and some of it bubbling in the low sonic register like a didgeridoo. He’s recorded with Andrew Hill, William Hooker, Nate Wooley, and the legendary Vyacheslav Ganelin. He’s one those geniuses who can keep pushing jazz further and what he does on this record is nothing short of spectacular.

The second of the two tracks features a long drum solo from percussionist Christian Windfeld. The style is very elegant and passionate perhaps like what a dreaming train would sound like.
