I know I’m too liberal with praise and my excuse that I’m a fan not a critic doesn’t help my readers understand how 5/5 the 5/5 releases are. They’re all great. I mean that. I can’t help that we are in a golden age of digital music and brilliance is falling from the cyber heavens like a manna hurricane and do understand that certain classics get a beyond ranking world heritage ranking but this is five/5 ok? With the t e l e p a t h テレパシー https://catsystemcorp.bandcamp.com/album/building-a-better-world type cover I was expecting slush or vapor but this is really closer to Tim Hecker except kind of blended in with a sound I associate with hauntology. Sometimes people don’t get exactly where I’m coming from but sometimes I mean in spirit as well as sound. With that disclaimer let me also drop the name The Caretaker https://thecaretaker.bandcamp.com as being in the same corner of the musical galaxy.
This really took over my mind. It’s very absorbing. It’s not soft enough to fall into the category of ambient and too ambiguous to be pigeonholed dark ambient but like the best ambient music this is very meditative, in an uneasy but cathartic sense.
