I very rarely review things I don’t like so 3/5 is my default lowest rating. There’s a handful of 2/5’s but in general unless there’s a real cause for it I don’t listen to it if I don’t like it. And it wouldn’t be much fair to review something you haven’t listened to, would it.
This is a solid ambient guitar release and I’m sure it sounded tremendous in that big empty church. It’s good music that sets out what it was meant to accomplish. However, it’s relatively generic. This genre, that attracts many creative and talented people, is flooded with records at this level.
Bedroom musicians, of which Serries is not, have really brought home the point of how many damn good musicians are out there and finally have a way of getting their music to us.
