As the name implies, this is a collection of Latin standards played in a duet format. It was recorded in NYC at The Jazz Gallery during the frightening month of September 2020.
These interpretations are pure soulful jazz that I would personally classify as spiritual jazz. The musicianship is gorgeous. These two have worked together quite a bit and it shows.
I have a lot of listening to do and I look forward to learning about the originals and other famous versions of these songs and also plan on doing a much deeper dive into their discography. Check this out and you’ll feel the same way unless you already know.
