The bandcamp write-up/hype is mostly what I would’ve put into this review except I’m not quite with them Iannis Xenakis name drop.
But because their self-description is so apt I’m going to try to get into the weeds here a bit. One of the real strengths of this record is the hints of hypnagogic pop in the song writing and especially in the final track. Say what you want about pop music but the ability to write a good pop song is the rarest musical skill this side of a Hendrix solo.
Solid song writing. Solid musicianship. Conceptually sound. Field Kit have their bases covered.
