This may not be a pioneering work of art but it’s startling beautiful. One of those that works within the established framework only to somehow find a way to do it better. This is representative of the creative and even emotional maturity of the genre and uses that power to dig into our deepest selves in a healing meditative way that is free from corny and false new age mysticism. In other words, this isn’t crystals. There’s no placebo here. This is something great art can do: massage your mental. Great art can do whatever it wants with our mental but in this case it’s very kind.
