A jazz powerhouse created by saxophonist Golding, in a trio with bassist John Edwards, who has quite a resume, and the very accomplished drummer Steve Noble. The phrasing is in the Coltranian tradition but some of the technique is more modern and bleeds into micro-tonal patterns and sounds like he’s using circular breathing methods. The third track, Lunar Wind, is more in the Unit Structures vein despite the lack of a pianist. Very rich in tradition but not without an individual voice. We should all be looking forward to hearing a lot more from these musicians.
