This is has been top shelf day for music listening as I’ve come across two sure ins for 2021 top albums of the year. Diab is the bowed guitarist GOAT. And there is competition. I’m not sure I’ve listened to everything Diab has released but I think I may have had I’ve always had a very favorable impression. Probably a perfect five stars across the board. And although I definitely have not listened to them back to back to back… I still felt pretty sure upon listening to this that this is my favorite thus far. It’s very expressive and melodic. And this is music that really makes me feel like the twentieth century was a pretty long time ago. This is definitely music of the twenty first century. Both its tonality and atonality feel very distant from the musical paradigms that seemed inescapable in the twentieth century.
